Charcuterie Skewers

Let's make charcuterie skewers - simple, fun, and beautiful!

Start by assembling your ingredients. My favorite are:
  • Salami - I like to get a variety pack to mix it up, but it doesn't matter the salami, as long as it's cut in a thin round
  • Cheeses cut into bite-sized pieces
    • I like at least 2 different kinds, again to mix it up.
    • Mozzarella balls work great for an even faster setup, but make sure you dry them off, or everything will be soggy
  • Grape Tomatoes - I cut these in half to make it easier to get on the skewer
  • Pickles
    • Sweet or sour or both!
    • Use cornichons or cut your pickles into bite-sized pieces
  • Olives
  • Grapes

Decide how you want your skewers to look. My favorite arrangement is:
  1. Cheese bite
  2. Tomato or Olive
  3. Salami Rose (see below for how to make that)
  4. Pickle bite
  5. Cheese bite
  6. Grape

Creating Your Salami Rose

Layout 2-5 pieces of salami overlapping the edges about halfway.

Fold the pieces in half together.

Begin to roll the pieces starting at one end.

Continue rolling until all pieces are rolled up. Hold the loose end.

Push the skewer through the rolled salami pieces starting at that loose end.

Creating the Skewer Step-by-Step

(in my favorite configuration 😁)

1. Cheese Bite 1

2. Tomato or Olive (I choose Olive)

3. Salami Rose

4. Pickle Bite

5. Cheese Bite 2

6. Grape

7. Layout on your charcuterie board (let me know if you need one of those 😉)

8. Repeat or Eat!!!

Enjoy!!!
